We are currently looking for a Team Architect (gn) for our Connectivity Team, which focuses on developing and maintaining connectors and data catalogs for the data located in external systems, on which TrendMiner’s analytics capabilities rely. The position is based at our headquarters in Hasselt, Belgium, and is available on a full-time basis. The core technology at the heart of this team is Java (Spring Boot). The core focus today is connecting with operational historians & data sources, but with growing interest in additionally integrating with AI.

Your Role

We are seeking a driven, committed and passionate individual with experience a senior software engineer, architect, or tech lead with a passion for data analytics, data structures, connectivity and integration. You will collaborate closely with other Product Management and and the Engineering Teams to design, develop and maintain robust and scalable back-end systems at the core of our industrial analytics product.

  • You will be part of a diverse, fun, experienced and motivated agile scrum team to grow and build our platform and connectivity solutions
  • As team architect within this team, you will:
    • Be responsible for analysis, architecture, design and implementation of the technical solution, in close collaboration with the team
    • You naturally consider the bigger picture when collaborating and designing for the future of the product
    • Work closely with product owner/product manager and scrum master to ensure alignment between technical, functional and operational aspects of the team
    • Maintain alignment and collaborate across the other Engineering Teams at an architectural level, together with other Team Architects and the Solutions Architect

Your Skills

To excel in this role, a broad match with the following is desirable:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Approximately 10 years of proven experience in building microservices platforms, ideally in a connectivity or data-driven environment
  •  A strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
  • A strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and SQL
  • Experience with API design principles, especially RESTful APIs, proven experience in integrating with external data sources through API and SDK-based solutions
  • Applied knowledge of software engineering principles (e.g., TDD, DDD, SOLID).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with a practical understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • A collaborative, result-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus
  • Experience with time series data and data analytics is considered a plus
  • Familiarity with other key technologies in our stack is a plus—especially Kubernetes, Angular, and streaming/event-driven architectures
  • An eagerness to learn new skills, explore new technologies, and develop new competencies within the team.
  • A passion for software development, innovation, and creative thinking in general.
  • You have the patience and experience to coach and guide junior members towards growth and success.
  • You’re comfortable facilitating and driving decision making, from a technical leadership perspective.
